How to Integrate Google Cloud Storage with ShareX

Create a Project

• Open Google Cloud Console
• Click Select a project, then New project
• Assign a name to your project, for instanceShareX
• Click Create

Google Cloud Storage is not a free service; charges are based on actual usage rather than a fixed monthly cost. For minimal use, storage costs are low, with many users paying just a few cents each month.

• Open billingthen set up a profile

Create a Storage Bucket

• Open storage
• Click Create bucket
• If you intend to use a custom domain, first verify it using this linkguideand then name your bucket to match that domain. For example, if you plan to usehttps://i.example.com/image.pngyour bucket should be namedi.example.com
• The storage class should beregionalif you intend to use a Content Delivery Network likeCloudflare, or multi-regional if not
• Access control should be set toFine-grained
• Click Create

[Optional] Set Up DNS for a Custom Domain

You must configure DNS if you plan to use your own domain name.

For instance, if you are utilizingCloudflareand your bucket is namedi.example.com, these DNS settings should be applied:

• Type: CNAME
• Name: i
• Value: c.storage.googleapis.com

Configure Google Cloud Storage in ShareX

• Open Destinations -> Destination settings
• Select the Google Cloud Storage tab
• Finish the authorization process
• Input the name of the bucket you previously created
• For the upload path, it is advisable to use%y/%mo, which results in a folder such as2017/12
• If you're using a custom domain, enter it into the custom domain field. Google Cloud Storage does not natively support HTTPS for custom domains. Therefore, unless you employ a TLS proxy likeCloudflare, you need to addhttp://before your domain. For example, inputhttp://i.example.com
• If your bucket uses uniform permissions, deselectSet public-read ACL on filesince ACLs are not supported in buckets with uniform permissions
• You can now close the destination settings window
• In the main application window, ensure that Google Cloud Storage is chosen as the destination for image, text, and file uploads
